I have put some thought into doing some things different next year. I have expressed this to a couple people so I figured I would post hear and get some feedback. In my opinion we just don't do enough head to head racing in RC. We race the clock just about as much as each other, and well I would rather be racing people than the clock. I have posted some of my thoughts below. I know this is DRASTICALLY different then our or anyone else's race program, but maybe this is what we need to get more people at the track. Let me know your thoughts everyone.
Current Program
*Only head to head racing is 20 min A-main, 15 min B-main, 10 min C-Main and lower
*TQ, mains, and starting order for mains based on best run of 3 qualifiers
*Only pit strategy is to make 10 minute pit to minimize pits
*Electric must pit 1 time for 3 seconds
*Bump up for those who finish top 2 in lower mains
Finish order is set by finishing position in a drivers given main
Proposed Program
*Head to head racing in both 12 minute mains
*TQ and running order for Main 1 set by best run of 2 qualifiers
*Running order for Main 2 set by finish order of Main 1
*2nd main finish position would determine tie breaker in case of points tie
*Mandatory pit for everyone in mains. Electric must come in for 5 seconds for pit
*Pit strategy when would you pit, pits could start as early as minute 2 and go to minute 10 of 12 minute mains meaning people would have to choose
when to pit early, middle, late? Up to racer to decide.
*Shorter times for Marshalls to get bored and start watching races
*All Mains same length…All the main deterimes is your skill level. Why get less run time…you paid the same, but no bump ups
Finish order would be based on point system for both mains i.e. outdoor motocross
